Today’s lecture hall of Tyrannus

Note how Paul went out into the world and engaged non-believers in discussions about Jesus. Where is today’s “lecture hall of Tyrannus?” YouTube? Facebook?

Acts 19:9-10 NLT

But some became stubborn, rejecting his message and publicly speaking against the Way. So Paul left the synagogue and took the believers with him. Then he held daily discussions at the lecture hall of Tyrannus. This went on for the next two years, so that people throughout the province of Asia—both Jews and Greeks—heard the word of the Lord.

  • Thanks for this – made me think.. I think that the lecture hall is wherever we come into contact with people we can minister to. I think asking the Lord to bring people is a great start, then it happens often and in a variety of ways, at work, socially, and my favourite, randomly! I recently met a couple of mormons while in a restaurant watching a game of Rugby. My team was playing their team, and it led us to talking, and eventually opportunity to discuss the differences of what we believe.
In all this, I strongly feel we need to keep in prayer to be endued with power from on high.
I found this blog from the fake steve blog, and I agree with what you wrote about that, so often I’m tempted to jump into an argument instead of praying first..

    Thanks for this!
